In March, Congress passed a bill making public protesting in the vicinity of Secret Service agents a felony. This tramples on our constitutional right to free speech as well as our right to peaceably assemble, but because of all the focus on ACTA and other outrageous cybersecurity bills, the "Anti-Protest Bill"(H.R. 347) didn't get any media attention. Now, though, it is finally coming to light, and Watchdog.net has started a petition to amend H.R. 347 to ensure that peaceful protests cannot be criminalized.
